Finished Project

Here's where I started.

Here's the finished project - a Birthday / Easter dress for Irene.

I had a vision and it took some doing, re-engineering the pattern, adding ruffles and flourishes, but it does match my vision! Hurray!

I can just see her prancing around in it.

  1. It's beautiful! and seeing the And a beautiful dress it is! I know Irene will be excited. The Simplicity pattern brought back so many happy memories of when I made all my kids clothes along with mine and a lot of their Dads! How fun! I haven't sewn anything in a very long time, but I remember the fun, the re-engineering of patterns, and their faces when they got to try them on for the first time. Thanks for the happy memories!

  2. What a charming dress! It has an Alice in Wonderland feel to it for me, especially with the white daisies on the field of blue. I hope we get to see a picture of Irene wearing it to complete the vision.

  4. Yes, Lin, the colors of Sweden, and one of my favorite color combinations. With her Swede ancestry and her blue-eyed blond features, Irene would look right at home in Sweden

  7. I forgot to tell you last night that I left an award for you on my site -- you don't have to do anything, it was given to me by Peggy, of Musings of Meggie, and I just wanted to pass it on to some of the people who help keep me inspired. Thanks!
