Gardening Daze

We're all in shock here in Seattle. It hit 74 degrees today! This is the third warm sunny day in a row, with hopefully one more before the temps drop and showers return. Tom and I have been making hay while the sun shines. While the garden isn't a thing of beauty yet, the work we do now will pay off later. I washed off the patio table and chairs, which were covered with pollen from the cedar tree. We dined al fresco here for lunch. We're just about finished with the pruning and cutting back for now. Tom trimmed the junipers along the driveway today.
We have planted sweet peas, dahlias, and radishes and lettuce in the raised beds. We use clear plastic cover until the seeds sprout to warm the soil and keep off cold rain. It also keeps the neighbors cats from doing their "gardening". I have planted out perennials we have raised or recently purchased.

Salal and other shrubs have been cut back and shaped up.

The lawn is mowed and a bright emerald green.
Plants are emerging from winter dormancy. No sign of unfurling fern fronds yet.

The trillium have opened up with the warmth.
Tomorrow we'll finish up our list of chores and then we'll have time to sit back and watch it rain, knowing we've done what needs doing for now.

And I have to say that you and Tom have done a great landscaping job at the cabin. It's perfect for the spot. Kudos!
I so enjoyed seeing the new cabin. What great birdwatching from the upstairs many windows.
