Another Open Garden

The Decker Garden in Renton was open the same day that we were, so I arranged for us to go and see their garden the next morning, on Sunday.  Later in the day they came to see ours.  It was another glorious day in the gardens.

Some of our little neighborhood garden club members couldn't get to this garden, so I promised to share photos of it.  Without further comment, here is the amazing Decker Garden.

And this is why we are members of the Northwest Perennial Alliance. Almost every weekend from May through September there are wonderful member gardens open all over the region.  Large and small, they are all treasures in their own way.

  1. Simply beautiful! I especially loved the enclosed room with the rattan furniture and plants. Outside there was so much to see and enjoy.

  6. So many things blooming all at the same time...it is just beautiful. I can't imagine Eden was better than what you have out there. Maybe less maintenance work???

  7. Gorgeous. Surely these people don't maintain this garden without some help.

  8. This was a gorgeous garden! You got some great shots of it. Did you see the ducks? They scurried away from us, quacking up a storm. Thanks for the beautiful shots of the butterflies. I cannot get a good photo of butterflies to save my life.

  11. This was another special garden on the NPA tour and you captured its beauty very well! One of the things I really appreciate about the NPA tours is that they feature everything from large estate gardens to tiny urban ones and can provide inspiration to anyone who has or wants to create a garden in any sized space! The common thread is that they're done well and by fun and interesting people. Thanks for sharing this garden with us!

  12. Wow, you folks in Seattle really set the gardening bar high. Just beautiful. The walkway under the trellis really looks cool and inviting.

  13. This garden was so lush and green with just the right amount of creative whimsey to it. I loved it. I am actually tortured by looking at it. The deer and bunnies are eating everything I plant. I miss gardening so much. I know I made the right decision to move here, but I am just so homesick for my flowers. It is so good to see this beauty.

  16. I'm trying to imagine having so many beautiful plants so close together, that only happens for me when the weeds step in, then it's not beautiful. I also can't imagine having so many tasty plants on display without my deer fences, it must be wonderful to garden without them. I do have the ducks but mine are wimps and stay in their movable run. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful garden to dream about. I particularly like the arching shady trellises.
