Let there Be Light!

During the days early this week when the temperature hardly rose above freezing in the bright sunshine, Tom labored in the cold, decorating the outside.
On Tuesday evening, as the sun faded and the moon rose, we had our grand lighting ceremony, just the two of us.

We live back off the street, so really only the house lights show in the neighborhood.

So why do we do this? As Kathy so well stated on her blog, we do it for the Joy!

And this is what we get to see!

  2. How absolutely perfect! That's a lot of lights and a lot of work. It is so pretty! I too decorate and send cards because it makes me happy. I love that warm friendly feel of Christmas. I looked at Kathy's blog. She said it just right! Thank you!

  6. Yes, our electric bill goes up for the month of December, mostly because it's COLD and DARK. I don't mind paying more for the sake of surrounding myself with light and beauty.

  7. I am a simple candles in the window person, but I do love to see what others can do with strings of lights and some imagination. I definitely get the appeal of twinkling lights at this time of year when it is so dark so early.

  8. We have tree lights on and some inside the house, but haven't yet done the outside. Not sure we will, actually.
