Getaway

We are on the island.
The sky was dark to the south over Seattle as we crossed the sound on the ferry Tuesday morning.

But things were much brighter over Useless Bay when we arrived at the Whidbey cabin.
In fact as it blew and rained and hailed and thundered over the city, we were able to weed the garden, do a little tree trimming, and go for a walk.
It's tulip time.  Today we'll drive up island and into the Skagit Valley for the Tulip Festival.  We're hoping those showers continue to be somewhere else.
There will be photos of flowers sometime to come.

  1. It looks lovely! We're headed down to the Oregon coast tomorrow. There's been rain here, but it's supposed to clear up. I look forward to the vastness of the ocean...

  6. I'm scheduled to go to the Tulip Festival on Wednesday, April 8th, during the week while I have a rental car. I just don't want to take my crippled car onto the freeway, so I'm waiting. I hope I don't miss the best days! I look forward to seeing your pictures so I'll be able to gauge what it will look like a week later. :-)

  10. Oh, have fun at the tulip festival! I want to go to that, maybe next year. I heard that they were blooming early, because of our strange spring weather.
