Fun on Mother's Day

I didn't take many photos yesterday.  I was busy.

In the morning we had our walk together, Tom and I. Then I spent some time just walking in our garden. It was a quiet, mild morning.

There was cooking, of course.  The ribs were prepped and put in the oven to slow cook before going on the grill.  There was set up and more preparation: tropical fruit salad, roasted potato wedges, grilled asparagus to have ready to go in the cooking rotation.

And then when Jill and the kids arrived, and then Jake, there was lots of talking and playing and eating.

Irene and I had to tour the garden, and then I helped her pick the "bokay" she had requested in a note she wrote while setting up her office in the shed/flower shop. (The note indicated that she knew "bokay" was not spelled correctly.  I showed her the correct way, explaining that it was French.)

Then we played croquette, (whoops - croquet)  which I am never quite sure how to spell either.
Jake and Isaac played a more vigorous game, while Jill took a nap.  She had a soccer game to play at 6:00, and she said she ate too many ribs. Tom cleaned up the kitchen.
Then, later in the afternoon, at Irene's insistence, we had our dessert- cherry pie, brownies and ice cream, on the wisteria draped deck.
It was all good.

  1. Hi Linda, Happy Mother's Day. I love your wisteria, it is breath taking. Wasn't the weather perfect this weekend; we live on the other side of the state, but had a backyard picnic as well. I love Springtime:)
    Have a lovely week.

It was a quiet one here. Warm and a bit humid. I spent the day reading.
