Early Spring?

I saw my shadow today. I hear that Punxsutawney Phil did not. That is supposed to mean an early spring. Here it just means it isn't raining. It will be by tomorrow.
Clouds are beginning to move in.

We enjoyed a cold sunny 3.75 mile walk this morning in the neighborhood. Since then I have completed my floor exercises and have spent a lot of time at the computer reading political articles and getting involved in debates on Facebook.

I see that Hillary Clinton has now been cleared by  the DOJ as well as the State Department of any wrong doing with her emails, and the FBI is only checking to see if she was a victim of hacking.  She has apologized once again anyway. Meanwhile Hillary bashing goes on as doggedly as ever.

While I was wasting my time trying to set the world straight, Tom actually got some work done. I just went out to check on him. I took my camera. He's pruning the espaliered apple trees.

While I was out there  I was surprised to see how far the daffodils had popped up out of the ground.

I found a wall flower blooming.
New growth is happening and blooming is beginning.
Snowdrops and cyclamen say "Why wait for spring?"
Happy Groundhog's Day. May your days be sunny and your spring be early.

  1. Those daffodils! They are making me smile big thinking of our early spring. Could it possibly be any earlier than last spring was? :-)

  2. Well lady, I could write a book. Never has America seen an election such as this one. I think we may be in for a wild ride.

  3. Your Primroses are so pretty, what a nice array of colors. I am going to vote for the person that doesn't call me on the phone:)

  4. Amazing that all those flowers are popping up. Rather look at flowers than think about the election hoopla.

  5. We had a varible day with heavy cloud and then clearing. You have more flowers now than I get all year!

  6. I am amazed how much farther into Spring you are although you are not much farther south. My Daffs are about 4" high and no sign of buds.

  7. Honestly, I was shocked to see how well advanced towards blooming your daffodils are. And you have flowers blooming! We are almost homebound with at least 15 inches of snow. I'm dreaming of a trip to Florida, or Mexico, or Hawaii.

  8. It is beginning to look like spring in your yard! One daffodil has opened here, much too soon, and the flowering quince has bloomed, and then later frozen. I am looking forward to spring.

  9. The day here is sunny in Texas, but there is a cold wind blowing. We really do need a bit of winter here, since it has been very mild. And we always need rain.

  10. I enjoyed your pictures. Our weather (SE WA) has zigged from one end of the spectrum to the other. Days of freezing following by days of 50's or higher. The bulbs have come up, gotten their ends frozen and then grown a bit more in the next warm spell. The fruit orchardists (particularly cherry growers) are especially stressed. So one day I'm in short sleeves and the next I'm wearing my long johns under my jeans. I guess we will learn to be adaptable.

  11. Nice to be outdoors, isn't it?

  12. Spring early?? Winter hasn't gotten here yet. Our daffodils came up last month then got frozen by a very brief cold snap.
Poor Hillary. The media reports the investigation, they just forget to report that she has been cleared. November can't come soon enough.

  13. I'm all for an early spring...it will be 60 degrees F today but no daffodils blooming yet...

  14. Our landscape doesn't look all that different from yours: We have only patches of snow. The sap is flowing in the maple trees, which means unusually early maple syrup. Rumor has it winter will return next week. I hope it does.

  15. Beautiful cloud picture. I'm not having that much blooming. Hopefully soon.

  16. This is so amazing. Groundhog Day doesn't have much meaning in Hawaii, of course. In Chicago, we just laughed about Groundhog Day because we always knew that no matter what, we'd have 6 more weeks of winter and sometimes more.

  17. Yes, early spring! I'm all for it. I'm glad you're trying to set the world straight. Reminds me of a sign that once hung in a store where I worked: "My mind is made up. Don't confuse me with facts."
