Tears

It's raining this morning. Kinda' feels like tears.

More tears.  Tears of grief.

Tears for our personal loss, and tears for our nation's loss.

I just watched Hillary Clinton give her concession speech. What a strong, beautiful, caring woman. I grieve for the lost opportunity to have this good woman as our president.

Because it is raining, we will be indoors. After watching the aftermath of yesterday's election, we will launch into house cleaning. As we go along, dusting and vacuuming and sorting and organizing, we will begin to deal with cat toys and perches and the residue of cat hair, and I will shed  more tears.

We will still be watching, for the cat that is gone, and the woman who should have been our leader.

And we will continue to be aware and involved. As Hillary said,
"Fighting for what is right is worth it".

  1. Not the results I had hoped for. Can't yet allow myself to think about the future. Today I just want to curl up in a fetal position and suck my thumb while holding on to my security blanket, except I think I just had my security blanket ripped away.

  3. I watched her wonderful speech also. Makes one wonder how that special, qualified and compassionate woman could have possibly lost. The USA lost out big time yesterday. I plan to get more involved in my party and do what I can. Enough voices will be heard.

  4. I, too, grieve for the lost opportunity to have Hillary as our president. She would have been a great one. What a classy speech she gave today! If Trump had lost, his speech would have spewed hate and wild accusations.

  5. Hard for liberals to get inside the head of those who supported our President Elect...but we better understand that because this train is not going to stop for 4 more years and by then Russia may own Disneyland and hold a mortgage on the Statue of Liberty.

  6. All we can do is move on and try and shed healing light.

  7. You put a lot into this election so it's a tough loss. You're doing the right thing by getting busy.

  8. I'm still with her. She won the popular vote, don't forget that. I am grieving for our loss. :-(

  9. As you know we differed in our political choices, but I do feel some sympathy for you and for Hillary supporters...just not the rioting flag burning ones. In the end we are all Americans and have to pull together, together we can be strong. With only 56% of Americans voting anything was possible in this election. In Rural Minnesota The Affordable Care Act cost some people more than they make in a month. Those are some of the voters that showed up at the polls. I know I spoke to many of them and they felt that they were at the end of their financial ropes and their only hope was Trump. Apparently many other people felt the same way. I thought Hillary gave a wonderful speech and she was gracious to President Elect Trump. :)

  10. I am still in a dazed shock that the state of the country has come to this. Things happen for a reason. I hope the reason will be revealed and I so hope it will not involve war and carnage.

  12. I am beside myself... afraid for what kind of world my grandson will grow up in as we fall back into the dark as far as climate change, environmental protection, care of public lands and wildlife protection and these are only a few things that concern me. This is a huge loss for every species on the planet...
