The Mukilteo Garden and Quilt Tour: Part 1

On Saturday we took off north to Mukilteo, the town we usually just pass through on the way to the ferry dock to go to Whidbey Island. This time we were going to play in gardens that also were showing quilts. What a beautiful combination that turned out to be!

Some gardens were modest, and some were spectacular, and all of the quilts were lovely.

We began in the middle of the tour, to avoid the crowds, at the Getz cottage garden.

The Hale garden sits on the site of an old park that in the early 1900's was a rustic cabin vacation resort. Some of the rustic charm is still present.

The quilt below is done in kaleidoscopic hexagons, like the one I made.

There is much more to come, as I get time to process my photos and as I continue my birthday pageant. We are home today, Sunday, to get a little work done and restart our exercise walking. Tomorrow we play again!
