Wilted

I bought this little Sun Impatiens at one of the nurseries we visited last week, potted it up and put it on one of our patio tables.

It has been hot and I was going to be sure to give it water today. Well this moring the poor little thing was all wilted. I soaked it good, and it has revived.

That was how I felt at lunch time today, and after working outside, the last two days. We have been having 90 degree weather, which for us here in the PNW is hot!

Today is cooler, about 80, and much better. Tom and I both worked outside this morning. Our lunch hour is at 1:00, since we are not early risers. Now this afternoon we have both been lazy, just sitting, mostly here.

I have the mosquito spray out since we do have those nasty bugs here and they especially like me. Oh, the itch! No bites today so far, thank goodness.

Tomorrow will be cooler and we'll start working on trimming the wall plants, the candy tuft and basket of gold, plus weeding, on the broken concrete wall that runs most the length or our yard, and clipping the boxwoods on each side of the garage. Last big job!

Now it's time to move to my recliner and work my puzzles, Wordle and Connections, before starting dinner. We'll be back outside for a little while after dinner.

Soon it will officially be summer, but weather wise, it is already.

  2. The cooler weather is much appreciated. What I don't get done in the morning often doesn't get done at all. Fortunately I'm an early riser. That rose is very beautiful🧡💛💗.

  4. Yesterday was noticeably cooler. I am also not a fan of hot weather, and it's not even summer yet! Hope for cooler weather. Glad you saved that pretty impatiens.

  6. Our weather has been very pleasant - not too hot and our tradewinds are so refreshing. I am hoping for a cool summer. We had the mildest "winter" and didn't ever need a sweater. That rose is so beautiful!

  7. Hi Linda… I sympathize. It’s been hot here in Hawaii too. Your impatiens is very pretty. You’re doing Connections too? I have the worst time with it.

  8. Ooof, I'm not a fan of temperatures in the 90's. We don't see a lot of those here, thankfully. Those are days when one does gardening in the morning and hides out in the shade or indoors the rest of the day.
You've got quite the list of gardening chores, I realize there is always something to do in such a lovely space.

  9. It is hot here too. Near 90 degrees but it's the humidity here that makes working outside so miserable. That rose is simply beautiful! I also like the impatiens in the little pot.
