Years ago someone gave me this Mary Englebright card. I think someone called me the "Queen of Reading", which I sort of was in my school. I loved it.
I thought of it this week when I had my throne restored in my garden.
When Tom was a kindergarten teacher, he built a Story Chair out of driftwood. When he retired it came home and we created a platform for it up on this wall. I enjoyed sitting in it and surveying my domain. Eventually it fell apart, and so did my maintenance of this spot in the garden.
Last week, as part of my garden work, I decided to clean it up and I asked Tom to buy me a new chair for Mother's Day. We went to Home Depot for an inexpensive but colorful lawn chair. Then I needed a secure hand rail to get up and down those steps, treacherous as they are for someone as wobbly as I am. Done. Thank you, Tom.
And now I am back on my throne, Queen of my garden, once again surveying my domain.
Yesterday I finished putting out the accumulated yard art that had been stored in the garden shed.
I (heart) my garden.
Love it! You are, in my opinion, the Queen of Gardening and Sharing. I enjoy your posts and hope to someday have wonderful garden spots that I can enjoy. Currently my yard and house are a mess. Today, I am especially enjoying how you put flat hearts on your rocks. Glass and/or ceramic. I can do that!
ReplyDeleteNice place to sit and enjoy your beautiful surroundings! I would have picked a red chair too!
