It has been a long time and another surgery since I have gone to the Stadium for a Sounders soccer game. I gave up my two seats several years ago and Jill now goes with Tom using her two tickets.
Well, Jill and Jake were both at the Whidbey cabin this weekend, so it was my turn to be Tom's seatmate. I stewed about it all week, but decided that with Tom's help I could do it. The biggest problem is my severe unsteadiness, especially in crowds. Tom stayed by my side.
We rode the light rail. I managed stairs when the elevators weren't workingat the stations. We managed the crowds at the stadium.
We arrived early enough, 11:20 for a 12:00 match, to have Starbucks coffee and a protein bar in the Club before the start, to tide us overThe stadium slowly filled up to 30,000 fans, all happy to be there on a sunny Saturday in Seattle.
Me too! It was a good game, a rough game, and we finally got the best of Dallas on a penalty kick to win the game.
I made it without any disasters. I had fun. I even decided I could probably do it again. :-)
Glad you did okay, especially with the stairs. Prop that leg up. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteGood for you. I also have difficulty with balance on slopes and small spaces. A good sleep helps me
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful news! I know you're a huge fan, and it was great the team won for you. ;)
ReplyDeleteWow! Kudos to you, Linda... that was an adventure apparently worth the effort. I'm not into crowds these days, so never would consider it. Used to go to LSU football games when in college, but that was long ago. Glad you got to go and enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the Frasier episode where he and Niles travel by train in Seattle. Maybe it was filmed here.
Bybthe way, the flower awning in your header photo is AMAZING.
Good for you! Crowds and unsteady footing does slow us down. Wonderful that you got out there.
ReplyDeleteGood decision! You must have enjoyed to go back to the place.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on having made it in such great form, Linda. It was a beaiutiful day indeed.
ReplyDeleteGreat!!! I am so proud of you.
ReplyDeleteGood for you!! How lovely that you were able to attend the game with Tom.
ReplyDeleteHurray! And also hurray for your team!
ReplyDeleteThat was a confidence booster for sure! Way to go!
