Wednesday and Thursday were cooler with cloudy mornings.
On Wednesday Tom moved the boxwoods out from their places in front of the garage and I used the electric hedge trimmer to shear them back into shape.
I did the back yard on Wednesday along with the boxwoods, and got start on the front wall along the driveway. Tom was my cord and tarp setup man and did other jobs here and there.
On Thursday we worked on the long driveway stretch. Again, Tom was the setup guy, and then while I ran the hedge trimmer, he went after the weeds growing on the wall, helped move the tarp, and raked up fir cones on the driveway.
Now it's all nice and trim.
Today we were tired. We did our usual Friday morning stuff, breakfast out and grocery shopping. We rested, and I made my poster for tomorrow's No Kings Rally.
While Mr. Trump is basking in the glow of his dictator style military parade, the rest of the country will be turning out by the tens of thousands to let him know we don't do kings in America, or dictators, or authoritarian regimes.
You have a LOOONG driveway! Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are resting after all that work. I hope there will be plenty of peaceful protests for the wood-be king.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed at how much you ae willing to do with the physical challenges you have. I wish all people for a successful demonstration tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteLinda, you have so much yard to take care of... and you seem to do a beautiful job.
ReplyDeleteAs for the demonstrations, I fear that although they may be planned 'peaceful'... they may be made to look otherwise. I still find it hard to understand how the situation the U.S. finds itself in - could possibly happen.
Great job on spiffying up your wonderful yard and garden! 300 linear feet of wall? Your property is huge in Hawaii standards. And using a tarp to catch trimming is brilliant. I need to do that. Mahalo for the tip!
ReplyDeleteI have do doubt the two of you are tired after all the trimming and removal of debris.
ReplyDeleteWishing all the best to those who are standing up in defiance to the current administration's efforts to end democracy in your country.
Everything is looking very neat and trimmed!! I'm not surprised that you are tired.
ReplyDeleteI watched a bit of that parade and found it so boring I switched to Netflix.
ReplyDeleteYou always do a great job! I have two boxwoods on each side of my front door but they are not very well I think my husband water them too much. Good you have a rest sometimes 😂
ReplyDeleteIt is quite an accomplishment for the United States Army to be 250 years old! I know many who served in the Army over the years and they would have been proud!!
ReplyDeleteOahu alone had 7,000+ people at our No Kings Day protest.
