Deep Into Summer

This morning we took our time sailing away to Whidbey Island, with a slow stop for Starbucks on the way. When we finally got on the ferry, the last ones to make it on, we felt like tourists. That's a good thing.

Back home, our Brugmansia , Angles Trumpet, is doing it's thing again, beautifully.

While we were driving north this morning, our mountaineers, Jill, Jake, and Irene were driving south, back out of the mountains and homeward bound after their latest adventure.

Oh my!

These photos are all out of order, but it doesn't really matter. You can see that this was no walk in the park. Jill reports that some of it was very hard.
And from a mother's point of view, dangerous! But these adventurers know what they are doing. And today they are resting! Safely. At home.

We are resting here at the Whidbey cabin. Maybe after dinner we'll go for a walk. Otherwise we are just changing our sitting locations. :-)

Summer!

  2. What great pictures! You can certainly see from them that it was no walk in the park. Congrats to the adventurers, and hope you have a wonderful time at the Whidbey retreat.

  3. Enjoy your time at Whidbey! The photo of the two climbers making their way down to the lake below is simply stunning. It would be an awesome front cover of a climbing magazine.

  4. Some of what your mountaineers are doing is a way beyond scrambling. But as you say, they know what they are doing.

  7. Lazy days of summer. It has been a nice one for me as I repot plants and make room for new ones. Your hikers are great because they are responsible and prepared. We have so many unprepared that assume they can manage a hike but they get into trouble and our 911 personnel have to go out to save them. For free.
