Some people who are not in the know like to ask us "What are you protesting?"
That's hard to answer, first because there are so many reasons to protest the Trump Administration, and Trump in particular, and secondly, because these rallies don't feel like protests. They are joyous gatherings of like minded people who want to make our voices heard, or more accurately, at least in our relatively small gathering of only a few thousand, make our opinions visible.
Read for yourself. This is just a sample.
We spent a joyful two hours talking to our friend Jan, waving our signs, reading other's signs, sharing laughs and thoughts with others, and I spent about 45 minutes walking the line, taking photos and talking and laughing with people who were strangers but could easily have been my friends.

ReplyDeleteLinda, our local NO KINGS protest was the same as you described yours... peaceful and cheerful, people getting together to let their concerns be voiced. My favorite sign was "Are we great yet? Or just embarrassed?"
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh… Those signs are so very creative! I LOVE reading them.

I hope this will end quickly but I don’t think so.
I so admire all of you for standing up like this. Many Canadians support you!
