Cleaning Up

Tomorrow it will be a week since the bomb cyclone hit us. While California got the floods, we here in the Puget Sound area got the wind. With so many trees here, about 50,000 homes are still without power. We were very fortunate, but our neighbors on the next street just got power yesterday.

We have done a great deal of cleaning up. I raked and Tom mowed and we both used the leaf blower to put things back to normal.

Inside, I cleared all of the pottery collection off the shelves

and stored the pottery in tubs in the garage. I have to make room for the Santa collection, of course.

Jake came over to help Tom get the Christmas lights on the house while we had a dry day. We will probably wait until after Thanksgiving to turn them on.

Saturday night our Sounders played a Los Angeles team, won and now advance to the soccer conference final next weekend, against the other LA team, both powerhouses. If they win they play for the MLS Cup. On Sunday our Seahawks won their football game against rival Arizona Cardinals. It was a good sports weekend and a chance to rest.

Now we prepare for Thanksgiving, which we will celebrate with our family this year at the cabin on Whidbey Island. I'm in charge of pies.

All is well for this thankful family.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

  5. You're hard workers to get all the debris cleaned up after your wind. Funny thing that I have not heard that much about the storm so I'm getting a detailed report from you.
