We have been blessed with sunny, dry weather, time to get outside and work in the garden. At the same time we can enjoy what's blooming and growing up close.
Between the two of us we have pruned and trimmed and edged and cleaned.
The lawn now crisply edged. I did the stand up scissoring and Tom did the crawling, weeding and picking up.
Tom has worked hard and now salal and binder weed are under control. Sword fern fronds have been clipped. Apple trees have been pruned. And so much more. My contributions are small compared to his.
I had an appointment with my knee surgeon on Monday and x-rays show that all is well with the bones, but of course there are soft tissue complications. I have tendonitis in my knee, and my hip flexor is still causing issues. My balance is worse that ever. I toppled over in the yard yesterday and added a few bruises but no real damage. I see my physical therapist tomorrow for what to do next. Meanwhile the beauty of spring progresses. Welsh poppies are starting to pop, and our King George Rhodie is opening with it's huge and fragrant blossoms.
Life is good.
I'm sorry you fell but glad that you didn't do any permanent damage! I've sure been enjoying this weather too.
ReplyDeleteForgot to say Thanks for identifying my pretty tree ( well, not MY tree. Tree in the park.)
ReplyDeleteYour garden is all so pretty! Be careful. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteI think you are doing great, just need to get your balance a bit better. I think my yoga class helps with mine.
ReplyDeleteHope you did not get injured. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI love all the bright tulips in your garden. I did not know Welsh poppies, very nice little flowers!
Glad you didn't get hurt too seriously. I hope your PT is able to offer some exercises to improve your balance. Take care!
ReplyDeleteLove the spring flowers! Our hollyhocks aren't blooming of course, but are the first to show green in the front flower bed.
That second picture with the lavendar/purple flowers behind the orange/red tulips is outstanding! What is the purple flower? Almost looks like agapanthus, but not quite.
ReplyDeleteThey are Spanish Bluebells or Wood Hyacinths. They are beautiful but very invasive. We tolerate that characteristic because the blue is so pretty.
DeletePt should be able to help you with balance. I know it helped Far Guy. Your flowers are ever so pretty, lots of work to keep everything looking great!
ReplyDeleteThose colorful tulips are beautiful. I hope the pain subsides. I know pain well, too. Not fun.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures of your flowers! Regarding balance issues: I got a vibration plate that I put my feet on once a day for 15 minutes, and I think it helps. I don't ALWAYS take steps one at a time any more. I'm still careful to avoid falls after breaking my arm as I never want to go through that again.
