Do Cry For Me, Argentina

Argentina has just passed full rights for same sex marriage. Gay marriage in Argentina! Argentina?? A Catholic dominated country we sometimes consider third world? Argentina! Perhaps because they are Catholic, not Puritan. Do cry for US, Argentina.

  1. Is that terrific or what! Now, when do we follow that "backward" country???? I would love to think we could do the same thing! And, oh yes, do cry for US, Argentina!

Thanks for saying it so well, Linda!!!

  3. Why are we always last? That is good news. Maybe someday we will have some good sense in our country, too.

  5. Amazing, they are far ahead of us in enlightenment and social justice. Who would have thought?

  6. I rejoice with all of the gays and lesbians in Argentina. How wonderful for them. Do you realize how difficult it is to admit you're gay -- first to yourself and then publicly? I am so glad they are now accepted in Argentina.

  7. Oh my, you've said this so well. Will we ever get rid of the Puritan influence? Not likely. I don't deal well with people who only look backward. Yeah for Argentina.

  8. That is too amazing! Well, Hawaii's governor has vetoed the Civil Unions bill and Mufi Hanneman who is the more popular candidate for Governor in November just said he would veto it, too. Well, I don't like being a one issue voter but this shows me what kind of person he is. So there.

  9. This is my personal experience. My son is gay. When he told me this 10 years ago, we both cried. Before this conversation we know little what gay is. But, we do know we love him. The only question i had for him was can you change this? he said no. I believe in him and trust my son. I know this is the way he is.
In a few months, i'll be visiting him and his partner for the first time.
They are together for almost 2 years. I want to make this visit official, that my husband and i are happy for him to having a nice young man who cares about him, and they love each other. Love has no boundry if you love someone. And, most of all i want to show that young man he is also appreciated loved by us.
