I've Moved Outdoors!

We have been enjoying unusually prolonged warm weather.  After all of the rushing about the last few weeks, I've slowed down to enjoy it.

I had my breakfast here, with the morning sun streaming through the new greens.
My lunch hour is spent here, starting in the shade, coming into the sun, as I read the editorial page and work the puzzles in the newspaper, and then linger over a garden magazine.
In the afternoon I set up my lap top here in the shade to read blogs and comment.
Today I just got back from the dentist and I'm going to make time to go here on the deck to smell the wisteria that is coming into bloom.

We've got almost everything planted now, including the glass flowers.

Tom did a lot of watering and pruning today.  I was much lazier, but I did get my walk in, in the mornings now, or the evening, instead of the afternoon.

Life is very good.

  1. I'm with you! I resent the time I'm forced to spend in the office these days, but when I'm not there I'm outside too. I've been enjoying the heavenly scent of our wisteria too.

  3. I'd be spending all my time out in that paradise as well.

PS Do you find insect control necessary for those gorgeous glass flowers? :)

  5. Linda, will you tell us how much land you have there in your garden. If I had a garden like that I'd move outside too. I like the fact you take time to enjoy your garden.

  6. Our lot is a half acre, approx 300 ft wide by 150 deep, set back off the street on a 150 foot driveway. There are streets here only every other block. There is another house in front of us out on the street. While w can see the other houses around us, we enjoy a lot of privacy due to the large trees.

  7. It seems like forever since we've had a spell of warm weather like this. Certainly last spring we didn't have even one! I am so enjoying it, too. I love your pictures, LInda. Thank you for sharing your beautiful gardens with me. :-)

  8. Yes, what a pretty yard! But, aren't you bothered by the bees and mosquitoes?

  9. @ Gigi - Bees, no, except in late summer, some years. Mosquitoes, yes, in the evenings after the sun goes down. We can't really sit outside then.

  10. Golly day Linda, if I had your garden I would never go back inside. It's absolutely gorgeous and you can see all the hard work you must have put into it. A labor of love I'm thinking. Have a great week!

  15. We have also moved mostly outside - the house is a disaster, so maybe we need a bit of cooler weather to go inside and CLEAN? Not yet though! I started swimming across the lake on Sunday....truly we are blessed when this kind of weather visits for an extended stay!
