Snow Magic

Waking up to new fallen snow on the first day of a new year was magical, and a wonderful symbol of making a fresh start.

The snow was light and fluffy, and made a wonderful crunch under my boots as I wandered in the garden. Now you can come with me.

There. And you didn't even have to put your boots on or get cold.

Much of the snow is sticking around now, but not prettily.  Streets are clear but shoulders and sidewalks are icy, making it tricky to go for a walk. We might have to drive out of the neighborhood, since the snow was not very widespread.

The 2nd day of the new year has now gone dark, and the temperature is 28 and dropping. January is upon us.

  1. Beautiful. I love the bright colored balls, very pretty, nice touch. We had some flakes today but no accumulation.

  4. It is still very cold here but we got very little snow and it's all gone now. Just wind, wind and more wind. Love your pictures, though! :-)

  9. Surprised to see so much snow anywhere in Seattle. You had as much as we did in Granite Falls I think. When we got outside of town yesterday, there was little or no snow. Loved your snow pictures even though I hate snow! You're right about not having to get our feet wet while enjoying it!

  15. Reminds me of a fairy tale story - Snow Queen? It was just beautiful with everything defined in white. Mahalo for the walk.
