Waking up to new fallen snow on the first day of a new year was magical, and a wonderful symbol of making a fresh start.
The snow was light and fluffy, and made a wonderful crunch under my boots as I wandered in the garden. Now you can come with me.
There. And you didn't even have to put your boots on or get cold.
Much of the snow is sticking around now, but not prettily. Streets are clear but shoulders and sidewalks are icy, making it tricky to go for a walk. We might have to drive out of the neighborhood, since the snow was not very widespread.
The 2nd day of the new year has now gone dark, and the temperature is 28 and dropping. January is upon us.
Beautiful. I love the bright colored balls, very pretty, nice touch. We had some flakes today but no accumulation.
ReplyDeleteThe heavy wet snow clings to everything and spreads beauty around.
ReplyDeleteAh, looks absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photographs!
ReplyDeleteThat was a magical snow fall and you captured it beautifully.
ReplyDeleteIt is still very cold here but we got very little snow and it's all gone now. Just wind, wind and more wind. Love your pictures, though! :-)
ReplyDeleteabsolutely BEAUTIFUL photos! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletelove all your snowy photos-they look almost black and white...we have had no snow yet just warm storms from california with rain-I like that better and it's warmer!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! You got lots more snow than we did.
ReplyDeleteOur quail are luckier... no snow to traipse through :-) You've captured the quiet perfectly.

Surprised to see so much snow anywhere in Seattle. You had as much as we did in Granite Falls I think. When we got outside of town yesterday, there was little or no snow. Loved your snow pictures even though I hate snow! You're right about not having to get our feet wet while enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful. I especially like the colours peeping through all that white.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a sweet and beautiful surprise!
ReplyDeleteNow that is what a proper snow looks like. I so envy you those beautiful views. We are still brown, beige and bare around here. Hoping for our first dusting later this week. Hope, I hope.
ReplyDeleteThe snowy photos are awesome!! No doubt the weekend will bring more, at least for us that's what is predicted.
ReplyDeleteYour snow is way prettier than ours! I bet it will melt faster too. Enjoy the winter wonderland! :)
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a fairy tale story - Snow Queen? It was just beautiful with everything defined in white. Mahalo for the walk.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures. So pretty. The beautiful side of winter.
