Then I had to go find one of my favorite native shrubs, Red Flowering Current. I caught it at it's most glorious stage!
I walked a path through the woods, enjoying the first new green leaves.
I walked .70 of a mile, not that much but good enough for now. I am now 2 months out from my knee surgery.
Back at home, I have been taking walks in my garden. The other day I took photos of a patch of Hellebore seedlings that are finally multiplying. All of these colors came from the seeds of a slingle plant. Helebores do that.
Now I've had a rest and it's time for 25 minutes on my stationary bike, and then some more rest and ice packs.
Tom is doing more tree clean up. This afternoon we are going to a local botanical garden. We have to take advantage on this one beautiful day.
The Red Flowering Currant would be a favorite of mine too! Your Hellebores are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty, and those red currants are gorgeous. Congrats on getting that almost a mile walk in.
ReplyDeleteYou have very beautiful spaces to walk. Love the spring flowers.
ReplyDeleteIt's a special time for me when the leaves come out. It's a long time until leaves come out here.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! We were hiking in the foothills above our city and saw a man paused by the side of the trail. He said he was six weeks out from his knee replacement. I thought that was a bit dangerous to be going up and down sometimes steep hills, as did my husband who has had both knees replaced. Wonder if he mentioned that activity to his doctor.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice walk and day! Wonderful pictures, mahalo!
ReplyDeleteYou did a nice walk. Our red currant is blooming but small flowers yours are beautiful. I love Hellebores and I think I’ll get some more.
ReplyDeleteToday I did some of my Spring cleaning but it takes me more time than in the past! Tomorrow resting and drawing!
I love the hellebores!!! There's a pathetic flowering currant in the park. Poor thing is blooming in spite of being very scrubby.
