Spring began here officially on Friday, March 20th, at about 7:30 AM. But it was cold and rainy and we were busy with breakfast and going to Kaiser Medical Center to have my finger checked, and dealing with snow storm damage that we discovered several days after the fact. We have a hole in the roof and rain and snow melt damage in an upstairs bedroom. Contractors have been notified, bids are coming in, and some work inside and outside is being scheduled. My finger will take a while to settle down, but it isn't serious.
Therefore, we were very happy to welcome the second day of Spring, Saturday, March 21. It wasn't raining! By mid day there was sunshine! We toured a garden in the morning and worked in our own garden in the afternoon. We were so happy to be outside.
Our garden tour, with our garden club, was at the Bellevue Botanical Garden, where the purpose was to see lots of Hellebores. We did. And lots more blooms and plants emerging for Spring!
Both Tom and I took photos. Get ready for a photo dump!

We are in unusual rainy days here - no seasonal change. When the sun comes out it is like wondrous!
ReplyDeleteStunning! I miss the scent of daphne. It doesn't grow where I live.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful! The super dark purple ones made me stop and look more. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteI'M SORRY About the roof problem . It always takes a while before you find the leak.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are amazing!! It was so lovely to have a day of sunshine. Nice while it lasted.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the problem with the leak will be dealt with swiftly ( and not too expensively).
Happy Spring! Those white/ peach colored Daffodils are ever so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWe also had a hole in the roof last storm but I noticed it quickly and was repaired before inside damage. I live the black hellebores so beautiful. Here we have sun but back to coats it is cold again. Hope you finger will get better soon.
