Packing Up the Sewing for Summer

Remember that quilted jacket I finally got finished?

Well, I used up some of the extra fabrics and an embroidery sample and made a matching quilted hand bag.
Then I quilted more fabric and made some zippered organizer pouches for the bag.

And now I am done sewing for a while.  I have packed up all the paraphernalia, and returned the guest room to guest room status.  My sewing machine and serger are going in today for annual servicing.

Now if it would just quit raining, I have some gardening to do, and some patio sitting to enjoy, and some walks to take.

  1. I put away my knitting for the summer. No doubt I will be ready to knit again come fall. I think we have some 90 degree days coming later in the week. Yuck. I prefer cool and wet to hot and sunny.

  2. You are such a talented seamstress. Clever shoulder bag and organizing bags to go with your beautiful jacket.

We're in a humid, rainy, heavy thunderstorm-y weather pattern at the moment. Or, rather, for the past several days and it's forecast to go into early next week. I'm ready for sunshine, low humidity, and 70's.

  3. Oh, Linda, what a lovely duo!! As if the jacket isn't enough, that bag just makes it so complete - and all the little bags to keep your things organized. You are the clever one. Well done!

  5. They are all just beautiful. I loved the jacket, and now I am loving the purse to match. It's probably a good thing you're putting it all away for now, so you will be excited to use it again come fall. We've got some beautiful weather coming for the weekend, it seems! :-)

  6. You have a lovely ensemble. Put away your sewing? That is not a concept I can relate to. It has rained so much over the past four weeks that I would be bonkers without by inside crafts.

  7. Very nice. I hope to dust off my machine this summer while my granddaughters are here. There must be something I can make for them.
