Walking On Sunshine

This may be the last day for awhile. Weather change is coming.

After spending some time with Jake this morning, catching up over breakfast at the Pancake Chef, a local landmark for many years now, Tom and I drove over to North SeaTac Park for a walk in the sunshine.

The runoff pond is frozen over and our shadows are long even at mid day.
But cold as it is, spring is always trying to erupt here in the coastal Pacific Northwest. The hazel nut catkins are elongating.
In the shady parts the path is still frozen.
But in the sun, we are walking on sunshine under a clear blue sky.

  1. We've been snowed/iced in since I guess Wednesday. Bob has a 9:15 cardiology appt in the morning that we'll have to reschedule. I think the rains move in Monday evening. I'm hoping we can get to the grocery store on Tuesday. Next we'll be reading about all the flooding.

  4. Starting on Jan. 15 we can start looking forward to some winter breaks. Maybe I'm just wishful thinking.

  6. By the end of the week, they say our snow cover will all be gone. Very unusual for Michigan. I hope it doesn't result in a late spring later on.

Your photos, as usually are lovely. Love your shadows in the first one.

  7. Sage and I walked on sunshine this morning, but since it was only 12 degrees, we gave up sooner than I'd planned and headed back home. Spring is no where NEAR thinking of returning here. It must be lovely to see signs of it in the Pacific Nortwest. But to be honest, I'm still hoping for more really good snowstorms.

  8. Green grass?? We are still enjoying Winter beige here. Watch those shady areas. They are wicked on foot traffic and we just don't bounce like we use to.

  10. What a lovely day. I enjoyed being out in it today as well. Not looking forward to the return of heavy rain but the predicted high of 54 for Wednesday sure sounds nice.
