A Day of Nursery Touring, Part 1

We have been working hard in our yard lately, and because Monday was expected to reach 70 degrees, we decided it would be a day off, where we could play in the sunshine.

 Playing means different things to different people. For us, it could likely mean visiting gardens or nurseries. Because we are redoing a small section of our garden, we are in the market for some new shrubs. That gave us a purpose. Finding old and new garden haunts gave us a direction. 

 Our first stop was Branches Garden Center in Federal Way. 

We just discovered this garden center last year. The best thing about Branches is the wonderful gift shop. It was a delightful way to start the day. 










 They do have plants too, with more fun things mixed in. 









Here we found a dwarf sarcococca 'Fragrant Mountain'.
 And an Easter bunny. I had to have SOMETHING from that great gift shop.

    Love the bunny with the ice cream cone! And that potting shed. I really want a new one. My current one is so dull.

    I bought bunnies at Al’s nursery last week. I do love nursery gift shops. The little Juncos are flitting around among the ivy on my patio. I hope that means they’re looking for a nesting site. I so enjoyed the nest they built last year. If we’re not chosen I’ll repot the plants, but not yet.

    I am so glad you bought one of those bunnies with the cone ready for some flowers. I was itching to buy one too.

    I was thinking of you off frolicking in the sun while my nose was to the grindstone at work! What a fun place! Those glasses-wearing hedgehogs are adorable as your bunny find!

    I love those Easter bunnies, and so many things to choose from, it must have been hard to choose just a little bit. :-)

    As you say, play means different things to different people. A visit to a garden centre seems like play to me.

    That bunny bird bath is so adorable. We have nothing like this in Hawaii that I’ve seen.
