Since I will be giving my earlier creation to Irene for Easter, I needed to make another twirly dress to give to her for her birthday five days after Easter. I just finished this sun dress which should fill the bill. She loves swishy skirts and lacy details. She calls them her "Beautiful Dresses".
My granddaughter Irene will be four in April. How the time flies! The good news is that we will be there in Colorado to help her celebrate, just as we were four years ago when we welcomed her to her world.
OK Linda.. you're motivating me. I just need to get myself down to the sewing machine place for those lessons. I love this dress! You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteWow! I would have loved that dress when I was 4! How lucky she is to have a grandparent who makes dresses for her.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I like your color and print combinations. I sewed for my little girl when she was this size. She's all grown up now and sews better than her mother.
ReplyDeletelovely dress, what a fun talented grandmother you are...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little dress! I know she'll love it. Isn't it fun to sew for the little ones? I always loved it!

ReplyDeleteOh Linda, what a wonderful and talented grandmother you are! Your little ones will never forget these outfits. Wish I had sewing talents. I just about had a hernia making straight drapes forsome of my my windows the other year. No way could I do what you do. My hats off to you.
ReplyDeleteGood woork and up to your usual high standard Linda. Bet she loves it! - Dave
ReplyDeletethat's a beautiful dress - I love the little purple centers in the flowers
ReplyDeleteHow cute is this??? I'd like to see a follow-up of your little sweetheart in her girly new outfits.
ReplyDeleteIt's been so long since I sewed for my daughter. I remember loving the act of creating... picking out just the right fabric for the pattern...finding the perfect trim, buttons, or shoes to go with it. You certainly have a good eye. These patterns are adorable together!
I'm with Maya! I'd have loved this dress when I was 4. But I love it now too. It is just precious.
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful Linda..she is a lucky little girl to have a talented Grandma like you...
ReplyDeleteThat little girl is one lucky girl. The dress is adorable and so spring like. I also have a little granddaughter who will turn four, but June 9th. My oldest granddaughter will be 9 on April 7th. I better get busy sewing now. You inspire me.
ReplyDeleteI took sewing lessons 3 times...and I have given up! Maybe being a leftie [a little logically challenged...trying to figure out the directions on a pattern...was stressful for me!!]
ReplyDeleteYou do amazing sewing projects.
