Project - Ruffles and Gathers

Since I will be giving my earlier creation to Irene for Easter, I needed to make another twirly dress to give to her for her birthday five days after Easter. I just finished this sun dress which should fill the bill. She loves swishy skirts and lacy details. She calls them her "Beautiful Dresses".

My granddaughter Irene will be four in April. How the time flies! The good news is that we will be there in Colorado to help her celebrate, just as we were four years ago when we welcomed her to her world.

  3. Very pretty. I like your color and print combinations. I sewed for my little girl when she was this size. She's all grown up now and sews better than her mother.

  10. How cute is this??? I'd like to see a follow-up of your little sweetheart in her girly new outfits.

It's been so long since I sewed for my daughter. I remember loving the act of creating... picking out just the right fabric for the pattern...finding the perfect trim, buttons, or shoes to go with it. You certainly have a good eye. These patterns are adorable together!

  13. That little girl is one lucky girl. The dress is adorable and so spring like. I also have a little granddaughter who will turn four, but June 9th. My oldest granddaughter will be 9 on April 7th. I better get busy sewing now. You inspire me.

  14. I took sewing lessons 3 times...and I have given up! Maybe being a leftie [a little logically challenged...trying to figure out the directions on a pattern...was stressful for me!!]
    You do amazing sewing projects.
