It's the Great Pumpkin!

I hope you all find a sincere pumpkin patch to visit. It looks like these kids did. I think there will be plenty to carve when we arrive in Fort Morgan.

  2. I love carving pumpkins! I even won a contest at church once.

My father used to grow pumpkins in his front yard -- a sight to see! Tourist buses used to stop in front of his house to gawk at them.

  3. Well, we only got to participate in pumpkin picking via email, but we will be there in Colorado to help carve and trick-or-treat!

  4. What fun! I usually grow pumpkins and when the pumpkins are about 6" I write a name with ball point pen with a grandchild's name on each. When the pumpkins are big, the writing has scabbed over. It was always fun to see who's grew biggest. No pumpkins this year...bad start to the season, too many rabbits, deer, raccoons, etc. Will do better next year!

  10. It's funny how my memory of carving pumpkins brought up the smell of the activity, first and foremost, and then the mess, followed by the artistic endeavor! Great shots, Linda.

  13. Oh what fun I always liked taking the grands to hunt punpkins. We usually go to Sxhus's farm in Mount Vernon--in the skagit Valley any way. They decided they are too big now---so far.

Gordons is just above nichols Brothers Boats at Holmes Harbor.
    Give it a try. MB

  14. I love the color of pumpkin, it’s so bright and sunny, it makes any one looking at them happy. The two youngsters in the picture look very happy too.

  15. Two favorite pastimes: roving around a pumpkin patch and a Christmas tree farm looking for that perfect pumpkin and tree, respectively.

It's good we don't look around the farm for a turkey, isn't it?? :)

Have a great, creative time with those pumpkins!
