Daily Life of a Retired Teacher Living in Seattle
I felt the same way after I finished the book. A friend had given it to me after she was unable to get into the story. I loved it and felt much like you did: it was really beautifully written, and it was translated from the French language. Kudos also to the translator! :-)
I read this book last summer and gave it 5 stars on Goodreads. I really liked it and, like you, thought is was beautifully done.
I have never heard of it, but I will keep my eyes open for it. Thanks for the review.Kathy M.
I, on the other hand, just finished reading After Dark by Haruki Murakami because my mother told me he was a very, very famous Japanese author. Riiighht... The story is about several people in the course of one night and at the end, it left you hanging. I must not be very literary minded because it just aggravated me to bits. Then again, your book sounds sad and I do so love happy endings.
I love beautiful language and strong characters, I will check it outhappy belated birthday to Jillshe looks amazing in her bungee jump photoswe're doing OK here so farhugs
Thanks, I will definitely try to find this book. Hope it is Kindle ready. Congrats big time on 10+ regular miles on the bike. That is impressive.
I am glad you found this book worth reading. However, I rarely read fiction. I prefer to read memoirs.
sounds like a skillful talented author!
