Change of Venue

I have been going outside for walks for almost a week now, walking up to a mile a day in the cold, dry weather.  I walk to get and stay regular.  I walk to keep moving.  I walk for healing exercise.  Walking is the best kind of exercise for back surgery recovery.  I walk because I can. And for those who might worry, I do not walk alone.

Then the snow came.

Then the snow melted into a slushy mess as the rains came.

I needed a new place to walk.
This afternoon Tom and I went to the mall at Southcenter, where we could walk and window shop.

I think I might need these shoes. They would look great with my Sounders gear!  Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, they only come in men's sizes in this cool color combo.
We settled for coffee.  Now of course, you knew, there would be Starbucks and chocolate!
Calorie consumption - another reason to walk.

  1. We walk too..most days. I have never had a Starbucks coffee, the nearest shop would be 90 some miles away:)

  2. Nothing better than keeping up with the walking. It helps the head more than anything.

  3. I've been thinking I should do some mall walking too. I see you found a shop with some glass garden art for your photo.

  5. As you said walking is very good for all of them. It keeps many diseases in control and keeps the body fit.

  10. You simply look great, Linda! I am so impressed with how quickly you are regaining your strength. Makes me so very happy to see. I travel back to our area tomorrow and learned, BTW, that it didn't snow in Bellingham like it did in Seattle. Love your new header picture, all your snowy ones, actually. :-)

  12. Walking, Starbucks, and chocolate!

We've been walking outside in this bitter cold. Sounds stupid -- but it really does us good just to get out for a while. Worth having to come inside and defrost. :)

  13. I like your black and white outfit. We don't have a mall anywhere near that I could walk in and I am afraid to walk these back country roads because of dogs! I need to be more like you! I need your determination!

  14. Well, you sure do look healthy! I am sure your active life style helped with the recovery time. And yes, I think walking for chocolate is a good thing too.

  15. This place is pretty amazing. I came up here with a friend. The seating was spacious and gentle with every seat cushioned and a clear view.
