Stuck In Bed

Its 2:00AM on my first night post surgery and I'm beginning to feel a little trapped.
My surgery went well and the pain is under controll. The worst part so far might have been the cotton mouth from not being able to drink anything before or after the surgery. Nausea and vomiting have occurred but only after being allowed to drink and sit up. I learned that the digestive system is the last thing to wake up.
Tomorrow I will be unhooked from a bunch of tubes and I'll be allowed to get out of bed. I can't wait!

I have already been freed from the respiratory monitor in my nose that kept beeping because the pain meds suppressed breathing by relaxing my lungs. Now I just have a pulse ox meter on my finger. It has allowed me to get some sleep.
That's enough typing on my phone for now. All is well enough.

  5. Oh, dear, I can see the lack of patience for being in bed in your eyes. Even so you are on with your life...posting from your phone! Let yourself heal before taking on the full swing. You will get there in no time.

  13. Bless your heart. That is the most pitiful picture I have ever seen. The good news is that the surgery went well.
Rest up lady and try not to get too excited tomorrow.
I don't know if they still use them but ask the nurses for a glycerin pop to suck on. It really helps with the dry mouth.
