A Fixed Ankle

It was a long day at Harborview Medical Center, but Jake's ankle surgery went well this morning, an infusion of coffee eliminated a nasty headache in recovery this afternoon, and we have him home and installed on the couch now at 5:00.

What's at the core of all that wrap?
This was the before photo.  The leg bone is not exactly connected to the foot bone.  It was all screwed up.
Now it's all screwed together.

  14. That was a really bad break. I wonder if some of that hardware will be coming out someday, or is it all permanent? Good thing he's young, he should be healing up faster than I would. :-)

  16. As an ex-x-ray technician, I can say that it looks like he has good strong bones. That's a pretty impressive metal brace sewn into his leg. Amazing what they can do. Just looking at the before picture gives me pain. Glad he is all patched up!
