After a week of taking kids to camp, going back and forth to Jill's house to take care of cats and water the garden, and shuttling Jake to appointments and shopping and so on, we are at home today.
Of course when we were not involved in all of that other stuff, we did get in some more NPA garden touring this Saturday. Since I don't have much around here to write about, I'll be posting photos of some of the lovely places we visited.
Julia Craig lives in Bothell, on a standard suburban lot. She has made her yard a lovely place for her and her cat to hang out.
This cat was so beautiful, such an unusual rich mix of golds and browns.
Julia is getting a re-bloom on her wisteria.
There had been a rain shower earlier in the day, something very rare around here this summer, and this little humming bird swooped down, landed in the damp soil, and seemed to be extracting moisture from it. We just stood and watched for a while, before we moved on to the next garden.
This is beautiful...
ReplyDeleteLush and colorful garden. When you do posts of these gardens a I realize how much effort you put in. I appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteOh, so very lovely. I was on the Hesselgrave bus today as I went to Seattle, and there was a woman who could have been YOU sitting across the aisle from me. Every time I looked at her, I had to remind myself that it wasn't you. And reading those post makes me realize how much you seem like family to me these days. Sweet little hummer. I hope he makes it through the drought. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely garden. I like the little hummingbird finding moisture in the soil, and all the lilies blooming.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful cat with all its colors. It's such fun to see how everyone has designed their gardens.
ReplyDeleteLovely garden. I always get ideas except your cooler weather makes that phlox look normal, mine are all raggedy from the bumble bees. The humming bird added magic.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful looking garden with lots to look at, the wisteria is looking magnificent.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty garden. I hope you enjoyed a nice, "normal" (!!), quiet day.
ReplyDeletelooks refreshingly cool and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHasn't this little run of cooler/wetter weather been a nice respite from the heat? Looks like a very nice garden complete with a sweet kitty and happy hummingbird!
ReplyDeleteHer garden is alive with flowers and creatures. Great presentation. Kitty with Lilies are special.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great photo of the cat and the Stargazer Lilies...just purrfect!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and well tended landscape. She should be proud. That really is a beautiful cat and seems happy with the surroundings. I've never seen a hummer on the ground--hope he finds moisture.
