We were back in the city today, to have lunch.
My cousin Susan and her husband Jim decided to take a train ride from where they live in Corvallis, Oregon to Seattle, just because it sounded like a fun thing to do. So my cousin Kris, who lives here in Seattle, and I arranged to meet them for lunch today.
We all met up at the Athenian, a long time favorite Seattle icon at the Public Market.
Here we are, daughters, and a son, of our sister-mothers: Dan, Susan, Kris, and Linda. Dan and Kris are siblings, and live here in Seattle.
We spent about two hours engaged in conversation, including some family history. The seafood was good too.
And then we all went our separate ways. Susan and Jim went to the aquarium on the waterfront, Kris and Dan went home to
Ballard and Shoreline, and Tom and I stopped off at Starbucks at the Market for coffee before making our way back to the Link light rail station.
Since parking is full at the Link stations by early morning, we walked the mile and a half from home to the station, and then the same back up the hill to get back home. All together we put on 4.7 miles on my pedometer, so we earned our lattes and dessert.
Next up, Valentine's Day. I think we'll have to behave ourselves and just give chocolate to Jill and the kids.
Our kids that live near us recently did a day trip to Seattle and rode the train, something I would have enjoyed. Life is short, live dangerously and have a piece of chocolate tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day to you and Tom! I'm home safe and sound after a day of travel. Hard to leave overly hot and sunny Florida and come home to snow showers! But still, it's good to be home. :-)
