Sunday Morning

Sun day? Not so much, at least not yet. Forty and foggy. But we know the sun is up there, working hard to burn through. For my trip to get the paper this morning, I decided to grab my camera. I got pulled into the foggy garden, the stillness and muted beauty attracting me to the far corners.
The maple in the front yard is beginning to color up, or light up, as we say. I watch it from the top down from my bedroom window.
Out at the street, watch out before crossing to the paper box. The street disappears down hill into a valley full of fog.
Paper safely deposited on the kitchen counter, I went exploring in the garden.
Peace be with you.

  5. I like fog, it softens colors, and feels good on my face too. We still have fog.. I live in a very foggy area.\Nice photos, some areas hardly ever get fog, so I bet others will like your fog photos.

  6. You said it was "forty and foggy". Does it feel colder with the dampness in the air? This was a beautiful way for you to spend some time this morning! Your garden, and your pictures of your garden are breathtaking! I'm amazed at how much is still flowering. We had two nights of frost that took most of my flowers. And yet, the delpheniums are trying to bloom again. But, they're looking mighty spindly! hmmmm...
Anyway... this is the type of yard that draws my body in and releases my mind to imagine what Heaven would be like. Much like this, I would think.

  8. What a beautiful yard you have. I love your little trinket tree--too cute. And your Bonsai are very nice. Did you do them? I used to but all I have left is a tine crabapple tree the dog played with. grrrr!
You changed your avatar. Pretty. MB

  9. The bonsais are Tom's creations. These are just two of the many he has made over the last 20 years. He has culled them down to about 20.

  13. Sherry, we think the wysteria is about 15-20 years old. The pot formerly held a specially purchased wysteria that looked grand but never bloomed. Along side it sat a volunteer from our vine in the garden. As it developed and began to bloom profusely, it usurped the other's place and got the pot and the feature role. I think the other plant was sold to a bonsai dealer.

  14. I have a wisteria that hasn't bloomed either, in 5 years?? Hmm? What's up with that?
I love bonsia, I did a pomegranate once...I worked with plants for years.

Linda, I hear you about family and friends reading and staying in touch. I wish that could be too, It couldn't be that time consuming, but I dunno. I don't have much family, only kids, and they are too busy. I welcome inclusion, and enjoy being a friend of yours.

  15. How beautiful everything looks! Like a French impressionist's painting. I love to be out in the fog with that smoky smell and the feeling like you are all alone. Of course, that's only if I can just stand there and not find my way around. :)

  16. The beauty of your yard and garden still shine through in that fog. Lovely.
