A Project and a Promise

The Project: This week I spent many hours on this bridal shower gift for a close relative.
These are kitchen/powder room hand towels decorated with machine embroidery. Each design takes about three hours of sitting by, monitoring progress, selecting colored threads, threading each color, re-winding bobbins, and being ready to hit the stop button if something goes wrong.
Then there is the set up before and the snipping threads and clean up after.
It's time consuming, but I'm happy with the results. I hope the bride likes them. She is joining our family by marrying my brother. They are in their 50's and this is her first marriage.
The Promise:
Walking down the driveway to get the paper this week, I noticed that a few blossoms are opening on the cherry trees lining the drive! It's a promise that, while it may stall a few times before it arrives, Spring is truly on the way!

  3. WOW!!! They're exquisite! i am particularly enthralled with the delicasy of the bleeding hearts, and I have a real soft spot for hummingbirds. Truly beautiful, Linda.

As are the blossoms. It's always exciting to see them in the spring. Except for my peaches. Early blooms...late frost... no peaches.

Yours are a joy to see, however.
