We shared Easter baskets, a second round for the kids, of course.
We had a delicious dinner of baked ham, twice baked potatoes, asparagus, yummy home baked "Good Morning Buns" , and fruit salad. Of course I forgot to take photos of the pretty table or the food.
After lingering around the dining table, and eating the chocolate and jelly bean eggs, we sent Grandpa Bunny out to hide eggs while we cleaned up dinner. Then it was time for the egg hunt.
Ready, set, GO!
Mr. Whiskers was a no-go, as he basked in the sun. It was about 65 degrees!
We counted the eggs collected - 48 out of 50-so we searched some more. We found one more, and as Irene laughingly told me, "We'll find the other one in January."
Time to open the eggs, reveal the candy treats and do some swapping.
Then it was time for birthday gifts! Irene turns 12 today, so we celebrated a day early. She had already had a friends party on Friday.
Irene reacts to a card I created for her.
The gift from Aunt Jan was a Pusheen shirt. "Pusheen" was the theme of Irene's birthday this year. For those of you, like me, who are not in the know, Pusheen is a comic strip cat on Facebook who obviously has a big following and is well marketed.
You may have noticed Irene's own Pusheen, Mr. Whiskers, hanging out, literally, during the activities.
Oh, boy! New shoes. This not-so-little-anymore girl has not-little feet.
The cake, of course, was Pusheen.
It was a beautiful day in many ways. Thank you, Jill, for a lovely Easter and Birthday celebration.
Lovely party, lovely family.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how quickly Irene and Isaac are growing up. Seems like they mature with every post. Happy birthday to Irene. Had to do a web search to learn more about Pusheen!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had a great day. I love those slippers and how the cat made him/herself at home on the umbrella table.
ReplyDeleteIrene has grown up so fast! She is such a pretty girl and looks very sweet. You have a nice family. Of course, I have never heard of Pusheen. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Irene!!! I love the Pusheen slippers and I wonder if they come big enough for me because I also have large feet ( size 11 no less)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Pusheen's name but I know him well. I love Jill's vest, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour family puts effort into things and as a result has lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Irene! She is growing up so fast! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely day, lovey party. Those kids have really grown. Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteAll of a sudden Irene is taller and looking so much older. How does that happen? She's not a little girl any more. Happy Birthday to her.
ReplyDeleteYour family has a huge talent for celebration -- a Happy Easter and a Happy Birthday.
ReplyDeletehow fun, we had a quiet day at home alone, hubby grilled t bone steaks on the grill and the weather was lovely...soon it will be too hot. This week I go to visit family up north in UTah where it's cooler and rainy or snowy this time of year.
ReplyDeleteIrene is a beautiful young woman. She's breathtakingly beautiful. I want that cat! Love the name Mr. Whiskers.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Irene. Almost a teen and so pretty. Pusheen is new to me also. You all really go all out with the themes. Well done. So glad you got a basket also.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day you all had. Happy birthday to Miss Irene. She is growing into a beautiful young lady. I love the cake! Well done, Jill. Have you found the missing eggs yet? :/
ReplyDeleteIrene is 12 already? How can that be? Your grandkids are so beautiful and growing so tall and so fast!
