Thanksgiving Repast, and Passed

We were thankful for each other.

We ate well.

We loved having time with just Jake and really talking.

After dinner we moved outside to do a photo shoot of us that will be part of our Christmas card.

Then we moved to the garage and made a wreath for Jake's door.

Then we served our pie and ate it while we Zoomed with Jill in Colorado, Tom's sister in Gig Harbor, Tom's brother and SIL on Whidbey Island, his niece in California, and Jake on his laptop in our family room while we were in our home office.

Zooming is such a wonderful technological gift.

We spent more time with Jake before sending him off with a leftovers dinner and his berry pie.

We ate a light meal in the evening before settling in front of the TV to watch recorded TV shows.

Now another Thanksgiving has passed. We'll hit the ground running the day after. It's supposed to be dry, it's Opt Outside Day, and we have yard work to finish up before the serious decorating and baking start around here.

Thanksgiving can happen, no matter how small.

  2. No pie here this year, but we did have broccoli.:) I was the only one who ate it but it's not a meal without green on the plate.

  4. That plate looks wonderful, Linda. We also left out the green beans, but added a strawberry, spinach, and bacon salad this time. We were also just 3... quiet and different, but OK. Glad you had a good Thanksgiving.

  8. What a nice day! Less stress without cooking a large turkey and one special guest.

  11. I didn't have pie, but I bought some apple crisp that was delicious! I'm feeling stuffed, even a day after. Your Thanksgiving sounds like it was wonderful!

  12. We did take-out from our community restaurant. Thanksgiving turkey for three - the two of us and our friend who is just about a member of our household. Had a Zoom meeting with six of our eight kids, my sister and her husband. Just about right, I'd say.

  13. So fun to eat tasty leftovers on paper plates and warm it all up in the microwave-few dishes and no pots or pans. Hubby appreciated that as he is the dishwasher-sunny and 54 warm degrees. Love our fall weather.

  14. The 2020 holidays are all going to be small but precious no matter what the food because we must be thankful to have the fortunate opportunity to be well and have our needs met with not as much hardship as that of so many more now.
Our October Thanksgiving was take out to support a local place. And we video chat almost weekly with family spread far. Devices are becoming a norm for many.
Happy for you that all was wonderful. Stay safe.

  15. For some reason my children did not Zoom with us. I have the app but not the ability to host such a meeting. We di talk via video o the small phone. It was just the two of us and while my TG dinner was good, it was not great.

  16. Oh wow! That looks absolutely scrumptious. We are STILL eating leftovers. No pie though. That's all gone.
