The Beautiful Game

That's what the world calls their game of football. We call it soccer. We came late to the world's game. We already had a game called football, which, ironically is played mostly with the hands.
On Friday the 2010 World cup opened in South Africa, a first for that continent. The US has hosted in the past, and hopes to again. We have our bid in. The World cup is held every four years, and an extensive season of play off matches precedes the final tournament.
Today the USA meets the country that started it all, the Brits, who invented the game and spread it around the world.
USA vs England on ABC at 11:00 PDT.
We're ready!
