The Big Gray

I thought I should check in before I lose my blog family. It's funny how little email I get when I don't post a blog. It's one of those gray, foggy, drizzly days we're famous for here. I'm sitting in my recliner, watching football, with my Acer notebook in my lap. Soon I'll get up and do my exercise routine and then watch the second half of the Seahawks game while peddling on my stationary bike. Going outside to walk is uninviting. I have spent many hours this last week on a sewing project, and I finished it up this morning just before the game started. It will be boxed up and mailed to the recipient, and after it has arrived I can post pics and clue you in. Tomorrow I'll start on my next project. I have quite a stack of sewing lined up to complete in the next month. It's good weather for sewing. Other than that, I haven't done much. We're adding a few dates to our calendar for holiday activities: a dinner party at our house, a Christmas shop field trip, a night at the theater. Our flight has been booked for travel to Denver for Christmas. I'm getting some ideas gathered for shopping. After Thanksgiving I'll do some decorating, because we like to have our house decorated even though we will not actually be here for Christmas. Oh. Halftime is over. Time to get out of my chair.

  2. We're sharing your weather here in Oregon. Susan has been here for a few days and left today. I'm busy putting the house back the way I like it and getting my thoughts collected again. She left me with a few knitting projects and this is good genealogy weather.

  3. Yes, it's a true rainy Sunday here in Bellingham, with nary a ray of sunshine. It's that misty rain that many long-time Bellinghamsters don't even seem to notice and walk around with no umbrella or raincoat.

It's nice now to watch the birds come to the porch and snuggle into my chair with my latest book.

  4. Can't wait to see what your sewing project might be. You like to sound as if you spend too much time in your chair, but I say you keep yourself extremely active. So there.

  10. Well, you may be having indoor type of weather, but it is almost 6 pm in Hawaii and I have the a/c on. It was muggy when I turned it on earlier in the day.

I look forward to seeing pics of the party at your home. Wonder if it will be potluck or if you will be doing all the cooking!

  11. You know, it is strange but even though we head south to escape gray dreary days in wintertime Washington, sometimes it sounds cozy and homey and I actually miss those days. (But not a whole winter full of them!) Enjoy the semi-down time! Rest is good too!

  12. We're doing the same -- writing down dates, making plans to decorate. We'll spend Christmas at home this year so we're going to get a tree. And I'm collecting wish lists from the kids.

Right now I need to get away from this computer and get to the gym!

  13. Looking forward to seeing your latest sewing project. I have a treadmill I've been staring at for a while now. Think it's time for me to give it a work out after its vacation, especially with the holiday feasting coming on. Enjoy your week :)

  14. It sounds like you are being productive, sewing and keeping in shape on your bike. Your weather is conducive to getting work done. We have unseasonably warm weather so Jules and I have run off to Napa-Sonoma for what may be the last of the nice weather for a while. I need to get some more photos so I will have something to post later.

  15. I have an Acer also, I love it

Denver has a lot of snow I hear but maybe that's only in the mountains

I was thinking of you on Sunday while watching my Jets, you're one of my blog friends that really knows how it feels to see your team doing well

    Hope sends hugs
