"For the beauty of the earth...
"Lord of all to thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise."
Just a few of the scenes of great beauty that I have experienced in my time on this wondrous Planet Earth.
Our big blue marble is precious and vulnerable. If we love it, we must protect it.
I'm going to think of just one small change I can make in my lifestyle that will help. How about you?
Beautiful photos. My son in law and grandson were both born on Earth Day, so it's a special day for our family. We are deep into recycling, it's something we do without even thinking now.
ReplyDeleteHappy Earth day you captured some marvelous photos! :)
ReplyDeletemuch beauty on our earth...
ReplyDeleteYes, many small changes will have an impact and we certainly all need to do what we can these days because it is not coming from the top.
ReplyDeleteI think many people never see and understand the beauty of the earth and why it's important to not destroy things. For us who lived on the land we understand the importance of earth day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Earth Day. Not sure what more I could do to help but I'll try to think of something!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are more than stunning, they are potent reminders of the beauty of our lovely planet. I will find ways to reduce my plastic use even more. I've heard about beeswax wrapping that can take the place of little plastic bags. I'm going to check it out. Happy Earth Day, Linda! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou do live in a stunning area. I will try to be more consistent in using my canvas grocery bags. I sometimes forget. Thanks to your comment on Olgas's blog, I will refuse plastic straws in restaurants since that is the only place I use them. Hadn't even considered that. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGlad I live here but so angry that people do ot believe in Climate Change.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the sunset (sunrise?) photo - where is that place?
ReplyDeleteI am getting much better at bringing my own bags and not accepting store bags for things that I can carry in my arms or in my own recycle bags. It feels good to do a little bit, for the sake of our kids.
The sunset photo is taken at Rockaway Beach on the Oregon coast, where we have our family cabin.
DeleteThese photos are amazing. Especially those first two, they look Swiss to me. Gorgeous planet!
ReplyDeleteThose first two were taken at my favorite place on Earth, Paradise on Mt Rainier, here in Washington State.
DeleteBeautiful images of "This fragile earth, our island home." Happy Earth Day.
