Diagnosis
The tests proved I was battling something, but it wasn't until I coughed up blood yesterday afternoon that we got a definitive result. Another trip into Urgent Care, another chest xray, and there it was, pneumonia.
I have been blessed with good health, so I have little experience with episodes like this. I was scared. I had a bad night until I just got up and literally chilled my feverish body. I sat by the open window at my computer. I sat outside in the moonlight. I worked on my body temp and my fear. Then I went back to bed and to sleep.
I am OK. I started on antibiotics last night and now I just have to let them work. I am fortunate to be a lady of leisure in my retirement and I have a husband who takes very good care of me. I had to cancel plans to go to Oregon to see my mother, but that can be rescheduled. I'll be staying home this week. I'll have time to post blogs, but probably not about politics for a while. That can be easily overdone. That doesn't mean I won't still be reading, watching and studying everything that happens in the campaigns this week. The outcome is very important to me.
But for now, I will go back to reading the paper and watching some football.
Go SEAHAWKS, please!

Things are always scarier in the night[dark]. I'm certain that you are relieved that an antibiotic will go after it. Get a lot of sleep- it is when the body repairs itself. Speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteantibiotics are wonderful also rest rest rest and eat chicken soup...I had pneumonia last Jan and didn't get better till I finally got diagnosed then got the antibiotics and they took care of it. enjoy having the freedom to get well without a job to hurry back to and a husband to help out. they do come in handy at times.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mare, rest and get plenty of sleep. Hopefully you will heal quickly. Best wishes - Dave
ReplyDeleteOh good gosh, Linda. Coughing up blooc would definitely unnerve me. Thank goodness it was diagnosed and you could get proper medication. Truly... rest and chicken soup are the best things now.
ReplyDelete((Linda)), rest rest & more rest. Stay away from politics all you can. The stress cannot be good for you right now.
ReplyDeleteGood Gosh!! I'm so pleased that the diagnosis is something that can be handled with antibiotics! Take them as responsibly and as conscientiously as you tend to your political views and you'll be better in no time.
ReplyDeleteYour other pals have said it all... rest, rest, rest...I bet that isn't always easy for you, is it? Lucky thing you've got that good man to help you over the hump. I'll make a wish for your speedy recovery with my very next wishbone.
I would strongly recommend not watching the Seahawks until further notice... really, there is no good that can come out of it... same for the Huskies and Cougars...
ReplyDeleteLinda, I'm sorry to hear you're not well, and glad to hear you have a supportive husband who takes good care of you.
ReplyDeleteI'm on antibiotics as well, and resting as much as possible, so can understand your situation. Eat well, drink liquids, and if you have a vaporizer, they can work miracles for pneumonia ( if you build a tent over you) might sound silly, but can literally make pneumonia disappear in a few days time.
Anyway, stay hydrated. Will be thinking of you...
You'll be well in no time.
I hope you are able to rest and feel better.
ReplyDeleteLinda..take time to get better and it will take time. I had pneumonia 2 years ago and I ended up in intensive care for a week. I was very ill very fast..Don't push..take it easy...Michelle
