Uncertainty, and Sure Bets

My sister-in-law is trying to make it here over icy roads for a little Christmas lunch before we all head out of town. Then she has to make it back home before the storm hits. Will she? My son will be joining us this afternoon. Hopefully he will get here without incident. He WILL stay here with us overnight. Some kind of storm WILL hit us late this afternoon/evening and overnight. Will it bring the high winds, snow and freezing rain that has been predicted? The Seahawks and the NFL say there WILL be a football game tomorrow at Qwest field. Will they play in snow or rain, wind or calm? We ARE scheduled to fly out of Seatac Sunday at 2:50. We plan to take a taxi the two miles from home to the airport. Will a taxi come for us through ice or snow? Will we have ice or snow? Will our flight be on time, delayed, or cancelled? I'm a bit on edge at the moment.

  1. Hmmmm, I'm have a lot of the same questions! My son in Dallas is due to get on a plane there Monday, arriving MAYBE around 4PM???? Since he has to leave on Friday, I hope he gets here on Monday -- now granted, I wouldn't mind if he couldn't get out on Friday, but I'll take it one day at a time. I'll hold good thoughts for you and your visitors and have a Lovely Holiday!

  3. think positive...the other kind of thinking-worrying doesn't ever help anything or anybody.

  4. Weather certainly is a force to be reckoned with when traveling. That being said, I have looked into my crystal ball...and all is well. Have a wonderful Christmas holiday, and my best wishes to the family.

  5. I love Mare's crystal ball. I sure wish I had one, too. I used to worry all the time about the weather in Illinois.

My granddaughter is having her 2nd birthday party and people had to drive in for it. My daughter was driving all over the place yesterday to get things ready. We called earlier and she said every guest arrived safely and that the storm yesterday had petered out for now. It usually works out just fine, doesn't it?

I know it's going to be alright for you, too. In fact, I just took a peek at Mare's crystal ball and she's right.
