Daily Life of a Retired Teacher Living in Seattle
Here's the finished project - a Birthday / Easter dress for Irene.
I had a vision and it took some doing, re-engineering the pattern, adding ruffles and flourishes, but it does match my vision! Hurray!
I can just see her prancing around in it.
It's beautiful! and seeing the And a beautiful dress it is! I know Irene will be excited. The Simplicity pattern brought back so many happy memories of when I made all my kids clothes along with mine and a lot of their Dads! How fun! I haven't sewn anything in a very long time, but I remember the fun, the re-engineering of patterns, and their faces when they got to try them on for the first time. Thanks for the happy memories!
What a charming dress! It has an Alice in Wonderland feel to it for me, especially with the white daisies on the field of blue. I hope we get to see a picture of Irene wearing it to complete the vision.
cute dress, it reminds me of sweden as the colors of their flag is blue and yellow. they certainly look wonderful together. very creative...
Yes, Lin, the colors of Sweden, and one of my favorite color combinations. With her Swede ancestry and her blue-eyed blond features, Irene would look right at home in Sweden
Absolutely beautiful! She is a very lucky grandchild!
Oh, it is more beautiful than the patter's version!
I forgot to tell you last night that I left an award for you on my site -- you don't have to do anything, it was given to me by Peggy, of Musings of Meggie, and I just wanted to pass it on to some of the people who help keep me inspired. Thanks!
The dress looks great Linda. As I have said before, you are very talented. - Dave
Oh..this reminds me of the dresses that my maternal grandmother made for my sister and me..Just beautiful Linda...
Just so pretty. Isn't it fun to have a vision and then have it come out that way. When does the birthday girl get her dress? MB
Very nice. Irene were adore it.
ahhhh, Linda, how utterly adorable! ah, daisies, yellow and blues. Isn't it fun to sew for little girls?I'm trying to crochet a hat...and interested in felting.. hmm. do you crochet?I also would like to make a felted afghan, I found a site for yarn that is truly affordable..
