Stop and Smell the Roses

Not all roses are fragrant, but lots of them are.  We took time to smell the roses at Heirloom Roses in St Paul, Oregon.

You'll just have to imagine the fragrance as I take you on a virtual tour.

This shrub rose was buzzing with friendly bees.↓

That concludes our tour of the Willamette Valley.  DJan said she can't believe how many photos I take, but then, that's what I do.  When my Nikon is with me, I see everything through my camera eye.  For those who made it through the whole tour, thanks, and congratulations!

Now I am off to a 1:00 Sounders match at the stadium, and maybe some roaming around down town.  It's a beautiful day to play.  I will be armed only with my iPhone camera, so look for me on Facebook. :-)

  3. Yes! I CAN smell them! They are stunning. Your Nikon and your unerring eye have given me quite a feast. I can use it, since I seem to be a little hungry all the time now. :-)

  6. My download speed is so slow that I only get to see a couple of the pictures but they were beautiful.
I love the roses with great smell but somehow seem to end up unwittingly with the scentless ones.

  7. All roses are beautiful to me. Love your pictures. We've been enjoying the fragrance of the wild roses along the roadsides on our bike rides lately. I think when they breed the more spectacular beauty into the hybrids, some of the fragrance is lost. But the hybrid teas
    are amazing!

  16. I love the irises on your header photo, Linda. I also happen to really, really love roses. Roses used to be my favorite perfume scent. These photos really capture each bloom's beauty. I am super impressed. I would love to go there!
