It has been a very busy week around here so far, with activities dictated by the weather, from rain to shine.
But the two Sounders soccer matches we've been to go on regardless of the weather.
The rain was relentless Saturday evening. Here's the view from the light rail train.
That solid gray sky was full of water.
Fans with Rave green ponchos were slow to take their seats. Fortunately we no longer sit in the exposed section, so we were high and dry under the roof.
This evening was a totally different story!
Here's the view from the train today.
The band played under clear skies after the march to the match, which we skipped on Saturday.
We enjoyed our pre-match Ivar's fish and chips on the upper concourse out in the sun , with great views of the city and the bay.
After the match the twilight still lingered
We left the stadium and walked up town, just enjoying the company of the happy throng of soccer fans.
But rain or shine, the outcome was the same, 2-1 victories!
Tomorrow is another busy day. Rain is in the forecast, but we'll work around it. I might even have time to post about what we've been working on.
I finally got out in my yard yesterday to get some cleaning up work done. I have a few daffodils in bloom now, but it has been such a slow start this year.
ReplyDeleteI see that they won AGAIN last night, and I knew you would be there and thrilled. Congratulations to the Sounders! :-)
ReplyDeleteamazing how beautiful it is when the sun shines and how adaptable everyone is to the rain...lol!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time!
ReplyDeleteGood 'ol Seattle weather---turn around and it will change. Glad the Sounders won both.

Our weather has been particularly schizophrenic this spring! Glad you had fun at the matches and can't wait to see what it is that you've been working on. Your new header picture is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove how everyone gets out rain or shine, miss that here in E. WA, where they think rain will melt them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a trooper! Carry on rain or shine.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a soccer fan, but I feel the excitement just looking at your photos and reading your posts. I did enjoy the Ivar's clam chowder. I'd like to go back and get some more some day.
