Set Free!

Between the two of us we dug ourselves out today. There was still a foot of snow in some parts of the driveway. It was heavy work. But we were able to get the van out and off to the store we went. It's only a few blocks, but now we know we can go farther!

Just as we were getting ready to leave, the mail man arrived with a package. I didn't have the front steps cleared yet, but at least he could get his mail truck up the driveway.

We got turned around without too much trouble, squeezing in and around the heaps of shoveled snow, and off we go.

We got what we needed, including a gallon of milk, which would have been heavy to carry on foot.

And then we got safely back home.
And then I opened the package the mail man delivered.
It's the 2019 Sounders Season Ticket package!  We are celebrating 10 years in MLS.
The season starts March 2nd, with a "friendly" next week at the stadium.

I sure hope it warms up. :-)

Oh, and then I got the front porch and walk cleared off.
I won't need extra exercise on the stationary bike today.

  4. I'm so glad you were finally able to get out! I finally got out today too. Yesterday we still had too much ice. I love seeing the Safeway! I grew up with Safeway and Piggly Wiggly but we don't have either of those stores here in Missouri. What a great Sounders package you received!

  6. Be careful with moving all that snow. That is a lot of work. So glad most f ours melted before we had to shovel this time.

  7. Our Thursday hike has been cancelled and I haven' tried to get my car out in the snow. I'm not very good at driving in it, so I've been taking the bus. My friend Melanie has an AWD vehicle and I'm taking the bus to town so we can maybe go somewhere together for a short walk or something. You sure don't need any extra treadmill, that's for sure! :-)

  8. Think we used to live our lives with plenty of "exercise" - no need to go somewhere to "work out". My neighbor helped me clear part of our driveway yesterday - another benefit of this weather is more neighbor interaction. All pluses.

  10. Wow, that's a lot of snow and it's wet and heavy too. Glad that you were able to get out and about even for a short time.

    Good luck to the Sounders!

  12. Glad you finally got your long driveway shoveled out, and got out to do some shopping. I finally drove Nigel down to the train station today so he could make it into Seattle to work. Our roads are in pretty good condition. We shoveled several times as it was still falling, which might have been more work, but it was still light and fluffy, and mostly involved pushing it around. Hopefully soon the snow will just be a bad memory.

  13. It must have felt great to be released from house arrest. Then to get the package which is a promise of another great season ahead? Kind of like getting your first seed catalog before Spring actually gets here.
The pitchers and catchers have shown up for Spring training for my love of baseball. Kind of gets the blood going doesn't it?

  15. Our friends’ granddaughters were here from Seattle for the week and worried about missing school. They couldn’t believe they cancelled school in Seattle so they didn’t miss anything.

Good luck to your Sounders. I’m wishing you a happy season and an early spring.
