I have mentioned before that I am a Big Tree collector. Wherever they are, I want to be with them and stand in their presence. Here is such a place.
We follow the trail along the Ohanapecosh River.
We waited our turn to cross the suspension footbridge.
Sometimes even giants fall.
A fallen giant becomes a nurse log.
It's like sitting in a cathedral.
And then we were officially tired! It was time to drive on up the east side of the mountain to our lodgings for the night, at Crystal Mountain Ski Resort,
where a yummy dinner would be waiting for us. I do recommend the Hungarian Goulash.
I love your adventuresome spirit. Your pictures are always lovely!
ReplyDeletewow what a fun trip, huge trees, fresh air and great food!
ReplyDeleteI too love Old Growth trees. These are wonderful! Thanks for the pictures and now you've made me hungry! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a weakness for large trees too. Imagine a little prairie boy who saw very few trees and finding such huge trees. That was me!
ReplyDeleteThose trees are amazing! Makes these trees in our yard that I call big, looks really small. Your pictures are breathtaking, these and in your last post. I love all those flowers.
ReplyDeleteAmazing trees! I share your love of big trees.
ReplyDeleteMighty impressive.
ReplyDeleteWow, those huge trees are amazing. It kind of hurts to see them wounded or dead. At least they have a use after death.
ReplyDeleteWow! There is a smaller park near Port Alberni on Vancouver Island called Cathedral Grove that is very beautiful. I suspect the trees aren't quite as large.
ReplyDeleteWow huge trees are so beautiful! Your supper looks pretty good too:)
ReplyDeleteThere is something so peaceful yet exhilarating being in among the ancients.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!!
