It's Christmas Eve Eve, the day before the day before Christmas. For me it has been a day of preparation. We will be having our big Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve, with turkey and the trimmings and candlelight and sparkle.
The family will gather tomorrow afternoon. There will be help in the kitchen with the peeling of vegetables and the mashing of potatoes and the stirring of gravy. Tom will be monitoring the smoky turkey on the grill. We'll light all of the candles. We'll eat and talk and share and hopefully laugh and feel grateful.
Christmas day we'll all be at Jill's house for breakfast and gifts and more good times.
Tom and I have had a good year. There have been challenges, of course. I seem to have a knack for falling apart and needing new body parts. But I persist, and Tom is a wonderful partner in all things.
I sent out 63 Christmas cards this year, photo cards with these memorable events featured.
The letter with the card listed month by month highlights. But you who are my faithful followers know all of those things. Our sharing of our lives through blogging and Facebook mean so much to me. I am thankful for you, dear friends. You enrich my life.
