Tom got a lot done in the garden during our recent dry, sometimes sunshiny days. The garden is mostly put to bed, the bonsai are moved under cover, the greenhouse is full of tender plants, plants are trimmed, yard waste bins have been filled and emptied and filled again, and lastly the lawn was mowed again.
Now the rains have come, Tom is tired, and he gets to rest.
I only did a little bit to help. I did collect and store all of the yard art and helped clean up the first layer of cedar dropping off the patio.
Those cedar droppings went on the garden path. The leaves of our Stewartia, dogwoods, and Japanese maples are finally starting to turn, and now they are coloring up fast. Autumn roses
I hope we get the bright red we usually get on these trees.
Right now this one is orange from underneath.
The Full Moon Maple in the front yard is going from green to orange very quickly. It's right outside our windows.
Now it's all wet. Falling has begun, rain and leaves.
Lovely, really lovely. The changes of the seasons in your garden/yard are so enjoyable.

ReplyDeleteI didn't know roses could bloom in the fall! Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteIt is all so pretty. So much work, you both deserve a rest.
ReplyDeleteI'm always so amazed at all the work that you both accomplish. But you are rewarded with such a spectacular garden. Thank you for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteYou still have lots of color with various colorful plants.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how you keep a beautiful yard no matter the season. I kind of give up on landscaping for several months, and I'm inspired by how beautiful your yard can be as the seasons change.
ReplyDeleteAh, I took the advice of a blogger and am using Chrome to comment! It works with your blog. Now onto some others. You really need to charge admission for that lovely yard!
ReplyDeleteI love to see your beautiful trees and shrubs at any time of year, but particularly now, in autumn. Thank you for sharing with me.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful -- even in the shutting down of the year.
ReplyDeleteLot of work to be done in the garden before winter. With the storm we have more work
