Last week, along with our "forest bathing" in the rhododendron garden, we visited the adjacent Pacific Bonsai Museum.
This is another favorite place for us. Years ago now Tom got interested in bonsai, took classes, and started creating his own. This is an art form that he has studied and that we both appreciate very much, true art in the garden.
This collection includes world famous and very valuable trees from the US, Canada, and Japan. My photos show just a few of these wonderful creations.
Depending on the season, the deciduous trees might be bare, have new leaves and blossems, autum color, or FRUIT!
Some of these trees are very old, or are parts of very old trees. All are created by bonsai masters.
Saturday night we got rain! A bunch of it, delivered in a terrific thunder and lightning storm. Sunday morning was sunny and calm and we went garden touring. There will be photos.
Since then the weather has been unsettled, with sudden bursts of wind, and this morning more rain. The wind and lightning we can do without. Trees are down and there are power outages, but the rain is very welcome.
Beautiful and wonderful old little trees!
ReplyDeleteThe rain certainly was welcome here too. The Bonsai trees are amazing.
ReplyDeleteCertainly an art form:)
ReplyDeleteAwesome bonsai plants. Tom learned much from taking the class.
ReplyDeleteThose trees are incredible. I would never have thought there would be fruit in miniature.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear you are getting some rain.
